GymFusion also provides independent gyms with an exceptional way to compete with national chains and franchises by generating revenues from a previously untapped source, the client that requires flexible access to gyms in multiple geographic locations.

How We Started

GymFusion was founded by three professionals who share a passion for fitness and a progressive, entrepreneurial desire to fill a gap in a burgeoning industry. We also share the independent gyms desire to serve this industry while being financially successful. Our unique concept allows gyms to take advantage of untapped revenue and compete with large chains and franchises - simply by joining the GymFusion Network. Watch your business grow with a smart, sustainable program that makes sense for everyone.

For the fitness consumer, we offer a new and innovative way to get fit and well. The founders of GymFusion realize that there are consumers that need the flexibility of working out at multiple locations. Many are also turned off by the large box gyms and their aggressive sales tactics. Until the GymFusion Network, there was no way for these potential members to efficiently access the large community of independent gyms within the U.S. without paying costly day rates.

Founders’ Profiles

The Founders combined experience of over 40 years gives us the broad yet unique skill set needed to develop the GymFusion concept. We blended our expertise in creating proprietary technology with financial savvy and a deep knowledge of managed networks to create the breakthrough idea that is GymFusion.

Skip Bengtson - CEO
Skip Bengtson brings 20 years of professional experience to GymFusion. He has held positions in public accounting, has consulted to Global 1000 international organizations and worked with many start-up ventures and online entities. Mr. Bengtson hold is a graduate of Texas Christian University, holds an MBA from the London Business School and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Rich Harkins - CTO
Rich Harkins brings 15 years of diverse technical experience to GymFusion. He has held positions in research and development as well as technical project management. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies to automate processes through web technology. Mr. Harkins holds multiple degrees from the University of Arizona including Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Mathematics.

Stephanie Sames - COO
Stephanie Sames brings 20 years of corporate experience to GymFusion. Prior to working with GymFusion, she spent 12 years with a leading developer and supplier of software and services to healthcare providers, holding senior level management positions in numerous functional areas. Ms. Sames received your undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and holds an MBA from Meredith College in North Carolina.
